Before You Begin
Unpack the unit and verify that you have the electric snow thrower with handle, chute crank rod with cotter pin, four handle/deflector knobs, two square J-bolts, two carriage bolts, two rubber washers, chute deflector, and operator's manual with registration card.
Safety first: Keep the snow thrower unplugged throughout assembly. Inspect the electrical wiring for shipping damage. If wiring is damaged or you suspect damage, stop and contact Customer Care. Handle the unit carefully to avoid pinching or damaging wires.
Assemble the Handle Frame
-
Lock the Upper Handle
Secure the connection between the middle handle assembly and upper handle by fastening the handle locks on both sides (manual Fig. 1).
-
Align the Middle and Lower Handles
Align the holes at the bottom of the middle handle assembly with the corresponding holes in the lower handle (manual Fig. 2).
-
Secure the Handle Assembly
Fasten the middle handle to the lower handle using the two square J-bolts and two knobs. Install the knobs on the inside of the unit and tighten securely (manual Fig. 3).
Install the Chute Crank Rod
-
Remove the Cotter Pin
Remove the cotter pin from the chute crank rod and keep it nearby (manual Fig. 4).
-
Insert and Align the Rod
Pass the crank rod through the center plate, then insert its end into the opening at the back of the housing. Align the retaining holes (manual Figs. 5–7).
-
Secure the Rod
Reinsert the cotter pin through the aligned holes to hold the crank rod in place (manual Figs. 8–9). If necessary, loosen or tighten the crank adjustment knob so the rod turns smoothly.
Attach the Chute Deflector
-
Position the Deflector
Place the chute deflector over the discharge chute and align the mounting holes. Position a rubber washer between the deflector and the chute at each mounting point (manual Fig. 10).
-
Install the Fasteners
Secure the deflector using the two carriage bolts and two deflector knobs. Tighten the knobs firmly (manual Fig. 11).
-
Check Chute Position
Turn the chute crank knob clockwise to check that the discharge chute and deflector are correctly positioned.
Final Assembly Check
Confirm that both upper handle locks are secured, the lower handle J-bolts and knobs are tight, the chute crank rod is retained by its cotter pin, and the deflector's carriage bolts, washers, and knobs are properly installed. Check that the chute crank moves smoothly and no wiring is pinched or damaged.
Before connecting power, review the operator's manual for the approved outdoor extension cord, cord-lock procedure, electrical safety precautions, and operating instructions. Never reach into the discharge chute or auger area.
