Before You Begin
Check the carton for the electric snow thrower with middle and upper frames, upper and lower chute crank rods, chute clean-out tool and its two clips, extension cord restraint hook, three cable clips, four sets of handle knobs and bolts, and the manual with registration card(s).
Safety first: Keep the snow thrower unplugged throughout assembly. Inspect the electrical wiring for shipping damage. If wiring is damaged or you suspect damage, do not assemble or operate the unit; contact Customer Care. Avoid pinching or damaging the cable while raising and securing the frame.
Assemble the Handle Frame
-
Raise the Frames
Pull the middle frame backward and lift the upper frame upward into position (manual Fig. 1).
-
Secure the Middle Frame
Attach the middle frame to the lower frame using the first set of knobs and bolts on each side. Tighten securely (manual Fig. 2).
-
Slide on the Cord Restraint Hook
Before fastening the upper frame, slide the extension cord restraint hook up onto the upper frame (manual Fig. 3).
-
Secure the Upper Frame
Connect the upper frame to the middle frame using the second set of knobs and bolts on each side (manual Fig. 4).
-
Attach the Clean-Out Tool
Clip the two chute clean-out tool clips onto the side of the middle frame, then insert the clean-out tool into the clips (manual Figs. 5–6).
-
Secure the Cable
Clip the cable clips onto the frame and place the cable inside the clips, keeping it clear of moving parts and pinch points (manual Fig. 7).
Position the Discharge Chute Deflector
-
Raise the Deflector
Loosen the deflector knob and lift the chute deflector to the desired position (manual Fig. 8).
-
Lock the Deflector
Tighten the deflector knob to secure the position. Do not overtighten (manual Fig. 9).
Assemble the Chute Crank
-
Remove the First Hitch Pin
Remove the hitch pin from the female end of the lower chute crank (manual Fig. 10).
-
Insert the Lower Crank
Insert the lower crank rod into the opening at the back of the housing and align the holes (manual Fig. 11).
-
Secure the Lower Crank
Insert the hitch pin through the aligned holes to hold the lower crank in place (manual Fig. 12).
-
Remove the Second Hitch Pin
Remove the other hitch pin from the lower chute crank (manual Fig. 13).
-
Insert the Upper Crank
Slide the upper chute crank through the rubber ring on the middle frame (manual Fig. 14).
-
Connect the Crank Rods
Slide the upper chute crank into the lower chute crank, align their holes, and secure the connection using the hitch pin (manual Figs. 15–16).
Final Assembly Check
Check that all four sets of handle knobs and bolts are secure, the cord restraint hook is installed, the cable is held by its clips without being pinched, the clean-out tool is stored in its clips, the deflector knob is snug, and both chute crank hitch pins are in place.
Before plugging in, review the operator's manual for the proper outdoor extension cord, cord restraint procedure, electrical safety instructions, and operation. Never put your hands into the auger or discharge chute; use the supplied clean-out tool only as directed with power disconnected.
