Follow the steps below to assemble your Snow Joe 24V-SS11-XR Cordless Snow Shovel. This model uses three pole sections that are secured with two joint-fixing knob + bolt sets.

Before You Begin
The operator's manual lists the following items in the carton:
- Cordless snow shovel upper pole assembly
- Cordless snow shovel lower pole assembly
- Middle pole with auxiliary handle
- Two joint-fixing knob + bolt sets
- 24V IONMAX lithium-ion battery
- 24V IONMAX lithium-ion battery charger
- Manual with registration card
Carefully remove the snow shovel and confirm that all supplied components are present. Inspect the product for shipping damage before beginning assembly.
How to Assemble the 24V-SS11-XR

Connect the Middle Pole to the Lower Pole
Slide the middle pole into the lower pole assembly.
Align the screw holes in the two pole sections.

Secure the Lower Connection
Insert one supplied bolt through the square hole in the pole.
Install the joint-fixing knob on the opposite end of the bolt and twist the knob until the connection is tight.

Connect the Upper Pole
Slide the upper pole assembly onto the middle pole.
Align the screw holes in the upper pole and middle pole.

Secure the Upper Connection
Insert the second supplied bolt through the square hole.
Secure the other end with the remaining joint-fixing knob and twist until tight.
Important: If the wiring inside the pole blocks the path of a bolt, carefully move the wiring to one side before inserting the bolt. Do not force the bolt through the wiring.
Assembly check: Make sure both joint-fixing knobs are securely tightened and that all three pole sections are firmly connected before using the snow shovel.
Adjust the Auxiliary Handle
After assembly, the auxiliary handle can be adjusted for a comfortable working position.
Before making a handle adjustment: Stop the snow shovel, remove the battery, and wait for the blade to come to a complete stop.
Adjust the Handle Angle

Loosen the Handle Knob
Turn the auxiliary handle knob counterclockwise to loosen it.

Rotate the Auxiliary Handle
Rotate the auxiliary handle to a comfortable working angle.

Secure the Handle
Tighten the handle knob securely before reinstalling the battery.
Adjust the Handle Position on the Pole

Loosen the Handle Knob Slightly
Loosen the auxiliary handle knob enough to allow the handle to move along the pole.

Move the Handle
Adjust the auxiliary handle to your preferred position.

Retighten the Handle
Tighten the handle knob securely so the auxiliary handle does not move or slide on the pole.
Install the Battery When Ready to Use

Check the Controls
Make sure the safety switch and trigger switch are not engaged before inserting the battery.

Insert the Battery
Slide the battery down into the battery compartment.

Lock the Battery in Place
Continue sliding the battery into the compartment until it clicks and locks into position.
The 24V-SS11-XR uses a 24V IONMAX 5.0 Ah battery. The manual states that before first use, a fully discharged battery requires approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes to charge under normal charging conditions.
Final Assembly Check
Before operating the snow shovel, confirm that:
- The middle pole is fully seated in the lower pole assembly.
- The upper pole assembly is fully seated on the middle pole.
- Both bolts pass correctly through the square pole holes.
- Both joint-fixing knobs are securely tightened.
- The auxiliary handle is securely positioned and tightened.
- The battery locks securely into the battery compartment.
