Before You Begin
Check the carton for these components:
- Electric tiller + cultivator housing
- Left and right handle grips
- Plastic cross plate and two screws
- Two handle knobs and bolts
- Two cable clips and cable restraint holder
- Operator’s manual with registration card
Safety first: Keep the tiller unplugged throughout assembly. Do not connect it to a power supply until the product is fully assembled. Never operate a partially assembled unit or one with damaged components. Keep hands and feet away from the blades.
Assemble Your Tiller + Cultivator
-
Attach the Handle Grips to the Cross Plate
Slide the right and left handle grips into the plastic cross plate, matching the holes on the back of each grip with the holes in the plate. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to secure the two screws (manual, Figs. 1–3). For easier alignment, attach one grip at a time. Follow the alignment marking shown in Fig. 2 before tightening.
-
Route the Power Cable
Push the power cable into the cable guide on the plastic cross plate (Fig. 4). Make sure the cable sits in the guide without being pinched.
-
Position the Handle Assembly
Place the assembled upper handle onto the motor housing assembly, aligning the mounting holes as illustrated in Fig. 5.
-
Secure the Upper and Lower Handles
Insert the supplied bolts and handle knobs to fasten the upper handle to the lower handle. Tighten the knobs securely on both sides (Fig. 6).
-
Fasten the Power Cable
Use the two cable clips to secure the power cable to the unit: position one above the plastic cross plate and one below it (Fig. 7). Keep the cable clear of moving parts.
Final Assembly Check
Confirm that both handle knobs are tight, the grips and cross plate are secure, and the cable is held by its guide and clips without damage or pinching. Ensure all parts are correctly assembled before connecting power. Read the operator’s manual for extension-cord requirements and safe operation.
