Assemble your Sun Joe 24V-X2-DTS15 Cordless Scarifier + Dethatcher by securing the handle, routing the cable, and attaching the thatch collection bag. Follow these instructions before installing either battery pack.

Before You Begin
Identify the upper handle frame, lower handle bars, two handle knobs and bolts, cable clips, and thatch collection bag. Inspect the components for damage before proceeding.
Safety first: Do not insert the battery packs until assembly is complete. Wear gloves during assembly. Keep the unit switched off and ensure the cutting device has stopped completely before handling the collection bag.
Assemble Your Scarifier + Dethatcher

Connect the Handle
Position the upper handle frame on the lower handle bars. Align the mounting holes and secure the frame with the two supplied handle knob-and-bolt sets. Tighten both knobs securely (operator’s manual, Fig. 5).

Secure the Cable
Clip the supplied cable clips onto the handle and insert the cable into the clips. Make sure the cable is not pinched, stretched, or in the path of moving parts.

Attach the Thatch Collection Bag
With the machine switched off, lift the ejector flap. Position the bag so the mounting hooks on both sides engage the grooves inside the housing (operator’s manual, Fig. 6). Check that the bag is securely seated.
Final Assembly Check
Verify that both handle knobs are tight, the cable is secured in its clips, and the thatch collection bag is attached properly. Do not operate the machine without the collection bag attached. Install the battery packs only after assembly is complete and you are ready to follow the operating instructions.
