Which Batteries Are Compatible?
The approved operator's manual lists the following battery options for the 24V-X2-DTS15:

Do I Need Two Batteries?
Yes. The 24V-X2-DTS15 can only be powered by both batteries together.
One battery alone does not provide enough power to operate the unit.
Can I Mix Different Battery Capacities?
No. Both batteries must have the same voltage and the same capacity.
Do not operate the dethatcher with batteries of different capacities. The operator's manual warns that doing so can damage the batteries.
For example, do not combine one 4.0 Ah battery with one 5.0 Ah battery.
Will Any 24V Battery Work?
Do not assume that every 24V battery is approved for this unit simply because it is part of the 24V system.
The approved 24V-X2-DTS15 operator's manual specifically lists:
- 24VBAT — 4.0 Ah
- 24VBAT-XR — 5.0 Ah
Use two matching approved batteries for the unit. If your battery model is different from the models listed above, confirm compatibility before use.
How Do I Check the Battery Charge?
Press the charge-level button on the battery to check the three battery indicator LEDs.
- 3 LEDs: Battery charge level is high.
- 2 LEDs: Battery charge level is decreasing. Stop work as soon as possible.
- 1 LED: Battery is flat. Stop work and charge the battery.
