Before You Begin
Check your carton for these components:
- Electric lawn mower
- Grass bag and grass bag support rod
- Side-discharge chute
- Upper handle and lower handle
- Two upper-handle knob and bolt assemblies
- Two lower-handle screws
- Extension cord restraint hook and two cable clips
- Spanner, operator’s manual, and registration card
Safety first: Keep the mower unplugged throughout assembly. Inspect the wiring and all components for shipping damage. If any wiring damage is seen or suspected, do not assemble or operate the mower; contact Customer Care. Handle the mower carefully to avoid damaging its electrical wiring.
Assemble the Handle
-
Secure the Lower Handle
Insert the lower handle into the two holes in the mower body. Secure both sides with the provided screws (Fig. 1).
-
Slide on the Extension Cord Restraint Hook
Before joining the handles, slide the extension cord restraint hook onto the upper handle (Fig. 2).
-
Attach the Upper Handle
Join the upper handle to the lower handle using the supplied bolt, plastic washer, and knob. Repeat on the opposite side and tighten both knobs securely (Fig. 3). Make sure the electrical cord is not pinched or damaged.
Option 1: Assemble and Attach the Grass Bag
Choose this setup when you want to collect grass clippings.
-
Insert the Grass Bag Support Rod
Fit the support rod into the holes in the grass bag’s plastic cover. The bend in the rod must face the rear of the mower (Fig. 4).
-
Secure the Protective Straps
Place the grass bag’s attached protective plastic straps over the support rod (Fig. 5).
-
Hook the Bag onto the Mower
Lift the spring-loaded ejector flap and position the grass bag over the mower body’s coupling hooks (Fig. 6).
-
Lower the Ejector Flap
Gently release the ejector flap to secure the grass bag in position (Fig. 7).
Option 2: Install the Side-Discharge Chute
Choose this setup to discharge clippings rather than collect them in the bag.
Important: The grass bag and side-discharge chute cannot be used together. Remove the grass bag before fitting the chute. Always keep the mower unplugged when changing attachments.
-
Attach the Chute to the Coupling Hooks
Lift the spring-loaded ejector flap. Slide the side-discharge chute tabs onto the coupling hooks underneath the flap. Check that the chute is firmly attached (Fig. 8).
-
Lower the Ejector Flap
Lower the ejector flap so it rests on top of the chute (Fig. 9).
Final Assembly Check
Confirm that both handles and knobs are secure, the power cord is undamaged and free from pinching, and exactly one clipping attachment is correctly installed: either the grass bag or the side-discharge chute. Make sure the ejector flap and other safety guards are in place. Do not connect power until assembly is complete.
Before Your First Mow
Review the Adjusting the Cutting Height and Power Connection sections in the operator’s manual (Figs. 10–11, pages 8–9). Cutting height has three positions: 1.18 in. (30 mm), 1.93 in. (49 mm), and 2.52 in. (64 mm); all four wheels must be set to the same height. Adjust only when unplugged and the blade has stopped completely.
For electrical safety, use a suitable outdoor-rated extension cord and GFCI-protected supply. The manual specifies 14 AWG up to 50 ft or 12 AWG for over 50 ft up to 100 ft; do not use a cord longer than 100 ft. Read the full operating instructions before starting.
