Get your Sun Joe 24V-X2-16LM Cordless Lawn Mower ready for use by assembling the handle and fitting the grass collection bag. Follow the steps below before installing the batteries or safety key.

Before You Begin
Locate the upper handle frame, mower with lower handle frame, handle bolts, washers and latches, cable clips, grass collection bag and grass collection bag handle. Check all components for damage before assembly.
Safety first: Do not insert the batteries until assembly is complete. Keep the batteries and safety key removed while assembling or adjusting the mower. Never operate a partially assembled mower or one with damaged components.
Assemble Your Lawn Mower

Raise and Adjust the Lower Handle
Lift the lower handle frame from its storage position. Select one of the three handle heights by aligning the arrow on the mower body with a line on the latch wheel (operator’s manual, Figs. 4–5).

Lock the Lower Handle
When the lower handle is at the desired height, turn the latch clockwise, then flip it upward to lock the handle in place (Fig. 6).

Attach the Upper Handle
Fit the upper handle frame onto the lower handle frame. Align the holes and insert the supplied bolts; secure them with the washers and handle latches. Screw the latches into position, then flip them up to lock the handle frames together (Fig. 7).

Secure the Cable
Attach the cable clips to the handle to keep the cable neatly secured. Make sure it is not pinched or stretched (Fig. 8).

Fit the Grass Bag Handle
Insert the two tabs on the grass collection bag handle into the matching slots on the bag. Press firmly until the handle clicks into place (Fig. 9).

Attach the Grass Collection Bag
Lift the mower’s ejector flap. Holding the bag by its handle, hook the bag from above onto the hooks on both sides of the mower. Release the ejector flap so it rests on the bag (Fig. 10).
Final Assembly Check
Confirm the lower handle and upper handle latches are securely locked, the cable is clipped in place, and the grass collection bag is properly seated. Keep the batteries and safety key out until assembly is finished and you are ready to follow the operating instructions.
