Use only detergents that are specifically designed for use with pressure washers in your Sun Joe SPX2599-MAX.
The operator's manual does not approve general-purpose disinfectants based only on their pH level.
What Detergents Can I Use?
Use a cleaning solution that is specifically formulated for pressure washers and follow the detergent manufacturer's mixing instructions before adding it to the foam cannon bottle.
The SPX2599-MAX manual lists pressure-washer-specific cleaners such as Sun Joe House + Deck Wash, Snow Foam Auto Wash, and Heavy Duty Cleaner as examples of suitable cleaning products.
Can I Use a Disinfectant?
Do not use a disinfectant simply because it is described as pH-neutral.
The manual does not provide a general approval for disinfectants. Only use a product if it is specifically designed for use with pressure washers and does not contain a chemical prohibited by the operator's manual.
What Should I Never Put in the Pressure Washer?
The operator's manual specifically states not to use:
- Bleach or chlorine products
- Other corrosive chemicals
- Liquids containing solvents, such as paint thinner, gasoline, or oils
- Tri-sodium phosphate products
- Ammonia products
- Acid-based products
- Household detergents
- Flammable materials
- Industrial-grade cleaning solutions not intended for this pressure washer
These chemicals can damage the pressure washer and may also damage the surface being cleaned.
Before Using a Detergent
Prepare the cleaning solution according to the instructions provided with the detergent. The manual also recommends testing the detergent on an inconspicuous area before use.
