Safety Before Troubleshooting
Do not touch the plug or outlet with wet hands. Turn off the water supply and squeeze the trigger to release stored pressure before disconnecting a hose or attachment.
No Power / Unit Will Not Start
Use these steps in order. This is the approved troubleshooting path for a pressure washer that buzzes but does not run, has no power, will not turn on, will not start, or stopped and will not restart.
-
Unplug the unit
Unplug the pressure washer before checking connections.
-
Confirm the water supply
Make sure the garden hose is connected and the water supply is turned fully ON.
-
Remove the attachment and check the nozzle
Remove any spray nozzle or foam cannon. If the nozzle needs cleaning, use the needle clean-out tool.
-
Purge air and trapped pressure
Hold the trigger for 30 seconds until the water flow is steady to purge air and release trapped pressure.
-
Reset the GFCI plug
Reset the GFCI plug. Plug the unit in, then check the GFCI plug for a red or green indicator light confirming that it is receiving power.
-
Install a high-pressure nozzle
Attach a colored nozzle or set the wand to high pressure. Do not use the black Soap nozzle for this test.
-
Start the pressure washer while holding the trigger
Press and hold the trigger while powering the pressure washer ON.
-
Allow the unit to cool if needed
If the pressure washer may have overheated, allow it to cool for 5 minutes, then repeat the startup test.
Turn the pressure washer OFF and unplug it. Do not open the unit or attempt internal motor, pump, wiring, or electrical repairs.
