If your Sun Joe SPX-FC34 or SPX-FC34-MAX Foam Cannon is not dispensing detergent, the container may be empty, the detergent may be improperly diluted, a connection may be loose, the soap adjustment may be closed, or residue or debris may be restricting the flow. Follow these checks in order.

Sun Joe SPX Series electric pressure washers
The foam cannon blends water with detergent and allows the soap-to-water ratio and spray pattern to be adjusted. Use the transfer adapter and connection method specified for your SPX pressure-washer model.
Before Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch the pressure washer off, unplug it, turn off the water supply, and squeeze the trigger to release stored pressure before removing or inspecting the foam cannon.
Use the Correct Dilution Ratio
Never pour concentrated Sun Joe detergent into the foam cannon without diluting it first.
Troubleshooting Steps
Check the Detergent Level
Confirm that the container has enough detergent. Add more properly diluted detergent if the container is empty or too low for the suction tube to draw the solution.
Confirm the Dilution
If the mixture is too thick, empty the bottle and prepare a fresh solution using the approved ratio. Do not add concentrated detergent without water.
Check the Bottle and Suction Tube
Make sure the bottle is securely attached and the detergent suction tube is properly connected, positioned in the solution, and free of visible kinks or damage.
Check the Pressure-Washer Connection
Confirm that the foam cannon or supplied transfer adapter is fully seated on the spray wand or trigger gun using the connection method for your SPX pressure-washer model.
Open the Soap Adjustment
Turn the soap-to-water adjustment knob away from the minimum setting. Adjust the spray control to the desired fan or stream pattern, then test the cannon again.
Flush Away Detergent Residue
Empty the detergent solution, rinse the bottle, and fill it with clean water. Reconnect the foam cannon and run clean water through it until the discharge is clear. This helps remove residue that may restrict detergent flow.
Inspect the Discharge Nozzle
With the pressure washer off, unplugged, and depressurized, check the discharge nozzle for visible buildup or debris.
SPX-FC34-MAX
Blow out the obstruction or carefully remove debris using the supplied needle clean-out tool. Do not enlarge the nozzle opening or dismantle the foam cannon.
SPX-FC34
Do not force an object into the opening. If flushing does not clear the restriction, stop using the accessory and contact support.
After Each Use
- Do not store diluted detergent in the foam cannon between uses.
- Flush the bottle and detergent path with clean water after every session.
- Keep concentrated detergent sealed and protected from freezing temperatures.
- Do not allow detergent to dry on the surface being cleaned.
Still Not Dispensing Detergent?
If the foam cannon still does not dispense after these checks, stop using the accessory and contact Shop Joe Customer Support. Have the foam-cannon model and the complete pressure-washer model number available.
