If your Sun Joe 24V-X2-BVM190 Blower + Vacuum + Mulcher will not start even though the batteries are charged, check the battery installation, power switch, tubes, collection bag, and inlet cover before requesting additional support.
Important: The 24V-X2-BVM190 requires two 24V batteries installed together. One battery alone cannot provide sufficient power to operate the unit.
Use two batteries of the same voltage and capacity.
If Your 24V-X2-BVM190 Will Not Start
-
Check Both Batteries
Make sure both batteries are charged and fully inserted into the battery compartments.
Remove and reinstall both batteries to make sure they are seated securely.
-
Check the ON/OFF Switch
Slide the ON/OFF switch forward until the ON mark is displayed.
Then select the desired operating speed using the variable speed control.
-
Check the Tubes
Make sure the blower tubes or vacuum/mulcher tubes are installed correctly and locked securely into place.
If necessary, remove and reinstall the tubes.
-
Check the Collection Bag
When the unit is configured for vacuum/mulcher operation, make sure the collection bag is installed correctly and securely locked into place.
-
Check the Inlet Cover
When using the unit as a blower, make sure the inlet cover is fully closed and locked.
-
Try Starting the Unit Again
After confirming both batteries and all required components are installed correctly, move the power switch to ON and select the desired speed.
Did the Unit Stop During Use?
If the unit stopped while vacuuming, a blocked tube or impeller may have triggered the battery's thermal protection system.
-
Turn the Unit Off
Slide the ON/OFF switch to OFF and wait for the unit to stop completely.
-
Remove Both Batteries
Remove both batteries before inspecting or clearing any obstruction.
-
Check for a Blockage
Inspect the blower tube or vacuum/mulcher tubes and impeller area for an obstruction.
-
Allow the Motor to Cool
After the obstruction has been cleared and the components are reinstalled, wait approximately 3 minutes for the motor to cool.
-
Reinstall the Batteries + Restart
Reinsert both batteries and move the ON/OFF switch to ON.
Safety reminder: Always turn the unit OFF and remove both batteries before inspecting the tubes, collection bag, inlet cover, or impeller.
