If your Sun Joe SBJ601E Electric Blower does not start when the switch is turned on, check the power connection and household circuit breaker using the steps below.

Before You Begin

Stop troubleshooting and contact support if:

• The plug or extension cord is damaged.
• The blower has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water.
• The power switch does not reliably turn the blower on or off.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Inspect the extension cord Confirm that the cord is suitable for outdoor use and is not worn or damaged. Replace a damaged extension cord before using the blower.
2. Use the correct extension-cord gauge Use 16 AWG for a cord up to 50 ft (15 m), or 14 AWG for a cord longer than 50 ft and up to 100 ft (15–30 m). Do not use an extension cord longer than 100 ft (30 m).
3. Secure and connect the cord Route the extension cord through the cord retainer at the rear of the blower. Fully connect the female end of the extension cord to the cord receptacle on the unit, then plug the cord into the power source.
4. Check the household circuit breaker Check whether the household circuit breaker for the outlet has tripped before testing the blower again.
5. Start the blower at normal speed Make sure the blower tube is securely installed and the nozzle is not pointed at anyone or loose debris. Slide the ON/OFF switch to position 1 to start the blower.
