Chainsaw Troubleshooting
Leaking Oil |
NOTE: It is normal for oil to seep from the saw when not in use. 🔵 To prevent seepage, empty the oil tank after each use. 🔵 When storing the unit for a long period of time (3 months or longer), be sure the chain is lightly lubricated; this will prevent rust on the chain and bar sprocket.Â

Not Cutting |
Step 1  Inspect the chain is installed the correct way Step 2 Inspect Tension Step 3 Inspect for a bent bar  Step 4 Check Tension, by rotating the chain around the bar by hand.  Step 5 If you can't pull the chain easily by hand, loosen the tension |
Sprocket Replacement | Unfortunately, Sun Joe does not currently have replacement sprockets available for the chainsaws. |
File Size | Your Saw Joe Pole Saw uses an Oregon 91PX chain that is sharpened with a 5/32" sized file. |
Oil Not Dispensing |
Our saws are equipped with a small hole that lubricates the chain with small drops of oil, the chain will not be lubricated as much or be as visual as a gas chain saw would be. If you would like to test your unit, please remove the bar, chain, and sprocket cover.Â
Place a paper towel by the sprocket cover and let the unit run for 5 minutes. You should see drops of oil on the paper towel. |
