Models Covered
24V-X2-SB15

24V-X2-SB18
48V maximum power from two compatible 24V IONMAX battery packs.
24V-X2-SB22
48V maximum power from two compatible 24V IONMAX battery packs.
All three models require two compatible 24V battery packs to operate. The battery capacity supplied with a kit may differ by model or kit configuration, so match replacement batteries to the complete model number and the compatibility information in its manual.
Before You Begin
Before inspecting the auger, chute, battery compartments, or controls, release the operating control, remove both battery packs, and wait for all moving parts to stop completely.
- Never clear the discharge chute or auger with your hands.
- Keep children, pets, and bystanders away from the work area.
- Do not use a damaged battery, charger, switch, or snow blower.
Snow Blower Will Not Start
1
Inspect the batteries and connections
Remove both batteries. Check the battery housings, terminals, and the connections inside both battery compartments for visible damage or debris. Do not use a cracked, leaking, swollen, or otherwise damaged battery.
2
Check both battery charge levels
Press the charge-level button on each battery. If either battery shows one indicator light, stop and recharge both battery packs with the compatible charger before trying again.
3
Confirm the batteries are ready to charge or operate
A battery that is too hot or too cold may not charge or operate normally. Move the battery and charger to a dry location within the temperature range specified in the manual and allow the battery to return to an acceptable temperature. Follow the indicator pattern printed on your charger or described in its manual because charger displays can vary.
4
Install both batteries securely
Slide one compatible battery into each battery compartment until each pack clicks into place, then close the battery compartment covers. The snow blower will not operate with only one battery installed.
5
Use the correct starting sequence
Press and hold the safety lock or safety switch button first. While holding it, squeeze the switch lever or ON/OFF trigger. After the motor starts, release the safety button while continuing to hold the operating control. Reversing this order will prevent the unit from starting.
Hold the safety button while engaging the operating control.
Snow Blower Starts, Then Stops
1
Stop and remove both batteries
Release the operating control, remove both batteries, and wait for all moving parts to stop before checking the unit.
2
Check for an overload, obstruction, or frozen part
Heavy snow, ice, or debris can overload the unit or block the auger and chute. Use the clean-out tool where provided to remove an obstruction. Never use your hands, and never force a frozen control or moving part.
3
Inspect the unit before restarting
Check the auger, chute, scraper bar, fasteners, and other visible parts for damage. Repair or replace damaged parts before operating the snow blower again.
4
Allow an overheated battery to cool
If the battery protection system stopped the unit because of overload or high temperature, let both batteries cool for a few minutes. Do not continue pressing the operating control after the protective cutoff.
5
Restart at a steady pace
Reinstall both charged batteries and use the correct starting sequence. Move forward at a slow, steady rate that allows the machine to clear the snow without overloading.
