Use these quick checks to help get your Shop Joe® Air Compressor working properly.
⚠ Safety First
- Always wear eye protection when operating the air compressor.
- Never exceed 120 PSI.
- Do not use this compressor to inflate large-volume items like pools, rafts, or large air beds.
- Operate in an open area at least 18 in. (45.7 cm) away from any wall or obstruction.
- Do not direct the air stream at people or animals.
- The hose and metal clamps can get hot during use. Use caution when removing after inflation.
- Do not expose the compressor to rain or wet conditions.
- Do not run the compressor for more than 5 minutes continuously. Let it cool for at least 10 minutes before restarting.

⚠ Assembly Reminder
Make sure the battery is fully seated, the hose is connected, and the correct adapter is used for the item you are inflating.

🔋 Compressor Won't Turn On
- Slide the battery in until it clicks into place.
- Press the battery charge-level button. Charge the battery if only 1 LED is lit or no LEDs are lit.
- Press the Power button below the LCD display before pressing the trigger.
- If the battery or tool feels hot, remove the battery and let both cool for 10–15 minutes.
- Use only a compatible 24V IONMAX™ battery, such as 24VBAT-LTE.
💨 Item Isn't Inflating / No Pressure
- Confirm you are using the correct adapter for the item.
- Push the air chuck clamp all the way down until it is parallel with the hose.
- Check that the hose is not kinked or blocked.
- For Presta valves, loosen the small valve locking nut before inflating.
- Press the trigger to begin inflation after the display is on and the target PSI is set.

Loosen the Presta valve locking nut before inflating; tighten it again when done.
💡 Not Designed For Large Items
This compressor is not intended for large-volume items such as inflatable boats, full-size pools, or large air mattresses. It is designed for tires, sports balls, and small inflatables.
📟 LVP or OCP on Display

| OCP | Over Current Protection | Turn off the compressor and let it cool before restarting. |
⚠ Do Not Force Restart
Do not keep pressing the power button while LVP or OCP is active. Allow time to charge or cool.
⛔ Compressor Shuts Off Early
- Stops after 60 seconds: Normal if the air chuck was removed without pressing the trigger first.
- Display turns off: Normal after 60 seconds of inactivity. Press Power to turn it back on.
- Stops after 15 minutes: The compressor could not reach the target pressure. Check for leaks or a loose chuck.
- Feels hot: Stop use. Let it cool for at least 10 minutes.
- Stops at 120 PSI: This is the maximum pressure limit.
🔌 Battery Won't Charge
- Confirm the charger is plugged into the wall and the battery charge socket.
- Charge only within 41°F–105°F / 5°C–40.5°C.
- Use only the included 24V IONMAX™ charger.
- When all 3 LEDs are lit, charging is complete. Unplug promptly.
- If the battery was stored for more than 12 months without charging, it may need replacement.
⚠ Charging Reminder
Always unplug from the wall first, then disconnect the charger from the battery.
📊 Pressure Reading Seems Wrong
The digital gauge shows an estimated pressure reading. Always verify vehicle tire pressure with a separate calibrated tire gauge before driving.

🚗 How to Fill a Car or Truck Tire
- Check the recommended PSI on the sticker inside the driver’s door jamb.
- Remove the tire valve stem cap.
- Install the battery and press the Power button.
- Use the + or − buttons to set your target PSI.
- Press the air chuck onto the valve stem and push the clamp down fully.
- Press the trigger to start inflating.
- Wait for auto-shutoff when the set PSI is reached.
- Press the trigger to stop before removing the chuck.
- Replace the valve stem cap and verify pressure with a separate gauge before driving.
⚠ Hot Chuck Warning
The air chuck and metal hose clamp can become hot during and after inflation. Use caution when removing it.
🧹 Care, Specs & Warranty
Care Tips
- Keep vents clear and clean with a soft dry cloth.
- Do not use gasoline, alcohol, ammonia, brake fluid, or solvents for cleaning.
- Store the hose and adapters in their storage areas after use.
- Store the battery at room temperature with at least 40% charge.
