Assembly
Getting Started

Inspect the area first
Remove stones, toys, doormats, wires, boards, and other objects that the rotor blades could pick up and throw.

Charge a compatible 24V IONMAX™ battery
Use the battery indicator lights to check charge level. Charge the battery before use if needed.

Insert the battery
Slide the battery into the battery compartment until it clicks and locks into position.

Adjust the auxiliary handle
Loosen the auxiliary handle knob, move the handle to a comfortable position, and tighten the knob securely.

Start the machine
Push and hold the safety lock switch with your thumb, then squeeze the ON/OFF switch with your fingers. Once the machine starts, release the safety lock switch.

Clear at a comfortable pace
Push forward slowly enough to clear the path completely. Slightly overlap each pass for better results.

Stop the machine
Release the ON/OFF switch. Wait for all moving parts to stop before lifting, inspecting, or servicing the unit.
Maintenance & Care
Check fasteners often
Inspect knobs, bolts, screws, and fasteners regularly to keep the unit in safe working condition.
Clear snow after use
Run the machine for a few minutes after throwing snow to help prevent the rotor blades from freezing.
Use a clean-out tool for clogs
Never use your hands to clear the rotor housing. Shut off the motor, remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, then use a clean-out tool.
Care for the battery and charger
Keep the battery and charger dry. Clean dust and debris from charger vents and contacts with compressed air.
Store indoors
Remove the battery and store the snow shovel indoors in a dry, locked location out of the reach of children.
No lubrication needed
The cordless snow shovel does not require lubrication. Bearings are lubricated at the factory for the life of the product.
Troubleshooting Guide
Only perform the steps described below. If the issue cannot be resolved, contact Shop Joe customer support or an authorized service center.
Possible Causes
- Battery is not installed correctly
- Battery is discharged
- Safety lock switch was not pressed first
- Battery protection system may have triggered
Solutions
- Slide the battery into the compartment until it clicks
- Charge the battery before use
- Press and hold the safety lock switch, then squeeze the ON/OFF switch
- Allow the battery to cool if overheated before restarting
Possible Causes
- Battery is not fully seated in the charger
- Battery temperature is too hot or too cold
- Charger is not connected to the correct power supply
Solutions
- Remove and reinsert the battery into the charger
- Let the battery return to the acceptable charging range
- Plug the charger into a proper 120V AC outlet
- Contact support if the indicator lights do not come on
Possible Causes
- Battery charge is low
- Snow is deeper than the recommended cut depth
- Forward speed is too fast
- Rotor housing may be clogged
Solutions
- Recharge the battery
- Clear up to 6 inches of snow per pass
- Move forward slowly enough to clear the path completely
- Turn off the unit, remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, then clear with a tool
Possible Causes
- Foreign object may have struck the rotor
- Auger, scraper bar, or internal parts may be damaged
Solutions
- Stop the motor immediately
- Remove the battery
- Inspect the unit for damage
- Do not restart until any damage is repaired

- Battery charge is low
- Snow is heavy, wet, or compacted
- Rotor housing is partially blocked
Solutions
- Recharge the battery
- Take smaller passes and move more slowly
- Clear the rotor housing using a clean-out tool, not hands
