Safety Before Mowing
- Do not operate in rain or mow damp or wet grass.
- Keep hands and feet away from the cutting area and keep bystanders and pets away.
- Inspect the lawn and remove stones, sticks, wire, toys, and other objects that the blade could throw.
- Wear eye protection and sturdy, slip-resistant footwear. Do not mow barefoot or in open sandals.
- Do not operate without the bag, discharge guard, rear guard, or other protective devices installed and working.
- Mow across slopes, never up and down, and do not mow slopes greater than 15 degrees.
Assemble the Mower
-
Raise the lower handle
Lift the lower handle from its storage position to the desired operating height and tighten the preassembled knobs.
-
Attach the upper handle
Fit the upper handle onto the lower handle, align the holes, insert both bolts, and tighten both knobs. Secure the cable with the cable clip.
-
Choose bagging or mulching
For bagging, lift the ejector flap, remove the mulching plug, hook the bag onto the mower, and lower the flap onto the bag. For mulching, remove the bag and fully seat the mulching plug in the rear discharge opening.
-
Install power only when ready
After assembly and setup are complete, insert both charged batteries until they click, insert the safety key, and close the battery cover.
Charge and Install the Batteries
-
Check both charge levels
Press each battery’s charge-level button. Three LEDs indicate a high charge, two indicate decreasing charge, and one indicates the battery should be charged immediately.
-
Connect the charger
Plug the dual-port charger into a compatible dry indoor outlet. Two green lights indicate that the charger is powered.
-
Charge both batteries
Slide each battery into a charging port until locked. Red lights indicate charging; green lights indicate a full charge.
-
Unplug after charging
The charger does not switch off automatically. Remove both batteries and unplug the charger when charging is complete.

| 2 | 1.4 in. (35 mm) |
| 3 | 1.8 in. (45 mm) |

Start and Stop the Mower
-
Prepare to start
Confirm the switch lever is released, the deck is clear, and the mower is not in tall grass or touching an object.
-
Install both batteries and the key
Insert both batteries until they click, insert the safety key, and close the battery cover.
-
Start in the correct sequence
Press and hold the safety-lock button, then pull the switch-bar lever toward the handle. Release the safety-lock button after the motor starts while continuing to hold the lever.
-
Stop the mower
Release the switch-bar lever. Wait for the blade to stop completely before tilting, carrying, inspecting, or touching the underside.
Mowing Tips
- Mow only when the grass is dry.
- For tall, thick, or uneven grass, begin at a higher cutting position and mow again at the desired height.
- Avoid removing more than one-third of the grass height in one pass.
- Walk more slowly and make narrower passes in thick grass.
- When bagging, empty the bag when its airflow indicator closes.
Maintenance and Storage
-
Remove all power
Remove both batteries and the safety key and wait for every moving part to stop.
-
Clean after use
Remove grass and debris with a dry cloth or hand brush. A damp cloth with mild soap may be used, but never clean the mower with running or high-pressure water.
-
Inspect the mower
Check fasteners, wheels, handle knobs, guards, the collection bag, and the blade for looseness, wear, or damage.
-
Store safely
Empty and remove the bag. Store the clean mower indoors in a dry, cool, secure location away from children, fertilizer, and rock salt.
-
Fold the handle
Loosen the upper-handle knobs, fold the upper handle, and lower the lower handle fully for compact storage.
Troubleshooting
The mower will not start
Check: Safety key, charge level of both batteries, battery seating, starting sequence, deck blockage, and grass height.
Try: Insert the key, charge both batteries, press each battery in until it clicks, press the safety-lock button before pulling the lever, clean the deck with all power removed, and begin at a higher cutting setting.
The mower stops while cutting
Check: Low batteries, tall grass, a clogged deck, or overheating.
Try: Release the lever, remove both batteries and the key, recharge both batteries, raise the cutting height, clear the deck, and let the mower and batteries cool before one restart.
The cut is uneven
Check: Rough ground, an unsuitable cutting height, or a dull blade.
Try: Adjust the height and inspect the blade. Sharpen or replace it if needed.
Mulching performance is poor
Check: Wet or tall grass, a clogged deck, or a dull blade.
Try: Wait for dry conditions, clean the deck, begin at a higher setting, slow your pace, and inspect the blade.
The mower is difficult to push
Check: Tall or heavy grass may be dragging against the blade or rear of the mower.
Try: Raise the cutting height, walk more slowly, and make narrower passes.
The mower vibrates excessively
Stop immediately. Release the lever, remove both batteries and the key, and inspect for a loose lug nut or visible blade damage. Do not continue if the blade is bent or unbalanced or if shaft damage is suspected; contact support.
