Blade Use and Trimming Tips
| Blade | Recommended Use |
|---|---|
| 4-inch grass-shear blade | Lawn-edge touch-ups and fine detail work in areas a mower cannot reach |
| 6-inch hedge-trimmer blade | Light-duty trimming of small hedges and shrubs with branches up to 0.3 in. (8 mm) |
- Use only the hedge-trimmer blade for hedge grooming and hold it at approximately a 15-degree angle to the cutting surface.
- Trim hedge sides from the bottom upward, then trim the top.
- Shape hedges slightly wider at the bottom so lower branches receive light.
- Trim long growth in stages rather than forcing the blade.
- Use pruning shears before trimming branches thicker than 0.3 in. (8 mm).
Maintenance and Storage
-
Switch off and cool
Release the trigger, wait for the blades to stop, and let the tool cool.
-
Clean safely
Keep vents clear and wipe the housing with a soft, lightly dampened cloth. Never immerse the tool or allow liquid inside.
-
Clean and lubricate the blades
Remove sap and debris after each use and apply a small amount of light machine oil or spray lubricant to the blade rail.
-
Install the sheaths
Place the correct cover over each blade before transport or storage.
-
Store indoors
Fully charge the battery and store the clean tool in a dry, secure location between 41°F and 104°F (5°C and 40°C), away from children.
Troubleshooting
The tool will not start
Check: Battery charge and the starting sequence.
Try: Charge fully, then press and hold the safety lock-off button while pressing the trigger. Release only the lock-off button after the trigger engages.
The battery runs low quickly
Check: Incomplete charging, dense growth, excessive force, or storage while discharged.
Try: Charge for 3–5 hours, slow the cutting pace, avoid dense branches, and maintain the battery during storage.
The blades slow down
Try: Reduce the cutting pace, use pruning shears for branches over 0.3 in. (8 mm), and clean and lubricate the blades.
The blades jam
Action: Release the trigger immediately and wait for the blades to stop. Clear the obstruction with a suitable tool—not your fingers—and inspect for damage before restarting.
The tool will not charge
Check: Outlet power, charger connection, charging-socket connection, and tool temperature.
Try: Reconnect and charge in a cool, dry indoor area. If the indicator still does not respond, contact support.
The yellow indicator is on
The battery is low. Stop trimming and recharge the tool before continuing.
