Tilling and Cultivating Tips
- Clear the work area before starting.
- Avoid very wet soil, which can stick to the blades and increase slipping risk.
- Do not force the blades into extremely hard or dry soil.
- Use slow, light, shallow passes and allow the tool to work at its own pace.
- For more complete coverage, work vertical rows first and then horizontal rows.
- If the tool strikes an object, stop, remove the battery, let it cool, and inspect it before reuse.
Care, Blade Replacement, and Storage
-
Power down
Release the trigger, wait for the blades to stop, remove the battery, and let the tool cool.
-
Clean after use
Wear gloves and use a brush, wooden stick, or dry cloth to remove soil and foliage from the blades, shaft, surfaces, and air vents. Never use bare hands or pressurized water.
-
Protect the blades
Apply biodegradable oil after cleaning and inspect the blades, lock pins, rings, screws, and locks for wear or damage.
-
Replace worn blades safely
Use only 24V-TLR-BLD. Open and remove the lock pin, slide off the old blade, align the new blade with the shaft notches, reinstall the pin through both holes, and close the ring over the shaft.
-
Store indoors
Store the clean tool without the battery in a dark, dry, frost-free, ventilated location between 50°F and 86°F (10°C and 30°C), away from children.
Troubleshooting
The tool will not start
Check: Battery charge, battery seating, starting sequence, and possible protection cutoff.
Try: Fully charge the battery, reinstall it until it clicks, hold the safety lock while squeezing the trigger, and let the tool cool before one restart.
The battery runs down quickly
Check: The soil may be too hard, dry, wet, or resistant; the tool may be forced too deeply; or the battery may not be fully charged.
Try: Fully charge the battery and use slower, lighter, shallower passes in suitable soil.
The blades stop or slow down
Check: Soil or foliage may be wrapped around the blades, hidden debris may be present, or the tool may be overloaded.
Try: Release the trigger, remove the battery, wait for the blades to stop, and clear debris with gloves and a brush or wooden stick.
The tool vibrates excessively
Stop immediately. Remove the battery and check for blade damage, an object strike, or loose hardware or lock pins. Do not continue until the cause is corrected.
Soil sticks to the blades
Try: Wait for drier soil, clean the blades after each use, and apply biodegradable oil after cleaning.
The motor housing feels hot
Try: Switch off, remove the battery, let the housing cool, clean the air vents, and use lighter passes. Stop using the tool if heat is excessive or accompanied by odor, smoke, or unusual noise.
