Start Here: Before First Use
Battery Charging
-
Remove the battery
Press the battery release button and pull the battery out of the tool.
-
Connect the charger
Confirm the outlet matches the charger rating, plug the charger into the outlet, and connect the charger plug to the battery charge port.
-
Watch the indicator
The charger light is red while charging and turns green when charging is complete.
-
Disconnect safely
Allow about 3 hours for a full charge. Unplug the charger from the outlet first, then disconnect it from the battery.
Before You Spread
- Check that all screws, fasteners, and components are secure.
- Make sure the hopper, impeller, agitator, baffle, and ejection opening are clean and undamaged.
- Confirm the trigger moves freely and returns to OFF when released.
- Inspect the work area and remove stones, sticks, wire, and debris.
- Keep children, pets, and bystanders away.
- Avoid rain, wet conditions, slippery surfaces, and strong wind.
- Wear eye protection, gloves, closed-toe slip-resistant shoes, and close-fitting clothing.
Choose the Material-Feed Setting
| Material Selector Level | Recommended Material |
|---|---|
| 1-2 | Fine grass seed |
| 3-4 | Light fertilizer |
| 5-6 | Heavy fertilizer |
| 7-8 | Coarse ice melt |
Adjust Speed + Spreading Width
- Turn the speed-control dial to select one of six speed levels. Higher levels spread material faster.
- Rotate the edge-control deflector to adjust the spreading angle from 82° to 127°.
- Start with conservative settings and follow the material manufacturer's application instructions and rates.
Starting + Spreading
-
Install the battery
Slide the charged battery into the compartment until it clicks into place.
-
Fill the hopper
Make sure the trigger is released, then add approved dry material without overfilling. Do not add stones, metal, or hard debris.
-
Start spreading
Point the ejection opening away from people, animals, vehicles, windows, and property. Press and hold the trigger while walking at a normal pace.
-
Stop safely
Release the trigger and wait for all moving parts to stop. Wait at least five seconds before restarting.
After Use + Cleaning
- Release the trigger, remove the battery, and allow the tool to cool.
- Remove leftover material, dust, and debris from the hopper, broadcast impeller, agitator, baffle, and tool surface with a brush or dry cloth.
- Clean soiled grips with a damp cloth.
- Do not use solvents or spray the tool with water, especially high-pressure water.
- Inspect safety labels, guards, nuts, bolts, and screws before storage.
Storage
- Inspect the broadcast impeller, agitator, and baffle for damage.
- Clean the spreader thoroughly and remove the battery.
- Store the spreader indoors in a dry, secure location away from children.
- Store the battery and charger in a cool, dry place. Store the battery at least 40% charged.

Troubleshooting
Remove the battery before checking, clearing, cleaning, adjusting, or repairing the spreader.
Spreader Will Not Start
Check
- Battery is fully inserted and locked
- Battery is charged
- Trigger moves freely
Try
- Remove and reinstall the battery until it clicks
- Charge the battery for about 3 hours
- If the trigger or motor is defective, stop using the spreader and arrange qualified service

- Battery stored in extreme heat or cold
Try
- Remove the battery and clear clumped material
- Store the battery at room temperature with at least 40% charge
- Replace the battery when its capacity falls to about 80% of original
Slow Impeller or Poor Spreading
Check
- Battery charge level
- Impeller, agitator, and baffle for clumps or debris
- Rotating parts for foreign objects or damage
- Material-feed and speed settings
Try
- Recharge the battery
- Remove the battery and clear debris
- Use a larger opening and higher speed for material over 4 mm
Material Feed Is Uneven or Jams
Check
- Material is dry and free-flowing
- Hopper is not overfilled
- Material size matches the selector and speed settings
Try
- Stop the tool, remove the battery, and clear the blockage after all movement stops
- Do not use wet, clumped, hardened, powdery, or unapproved material
- Keep the spreader moving at a normal walking pace
Battery Will Not Charge
Check
- Outlet supplies 100-240V AC, 50/60 Hz
- Battery and charger are not damaged
- Battery temperature is within 41°F-105°F
